Carolyn Akens is a health coach, raw food educator, master raw food chef and speaker. The reason Carolyn became a health coach and raw food educator and wants to teach people about healthy eating is because her younger brother succumbed to morbid obesity when he was only 45, leaving a wife, three children and siblings behind. He had many health problems attributed to morbid obesity. Carolyn watched her dear brother fade over time because of his weight related health issues. She soon learned that obesity is not necessarily hereditary; it is what we put in our mouths that can make a difference.
Carolyn was obese too and was dealing with high cholesterol, migraines, arthritis in her lower back, and weight fluctuation. While doing research she discovered raw foods and knew that would be the place to start her journey. She began juicing, drinking green smoothies, eating salads, and applying other techniques and created health and wellness programs (detox and weight loss).
